But then again, of course, there's the boyfriend. And there has to be trouble somewhere, right?
Or how otherwise would I know I'm alive? (On an unrelated note, I've discovered two things: you can get really sore from working out at the gym, and most of the people at the gym most of the time are men, really, really, hot men. Smoking. Ohmigod. ) So... relationship is proceeding. Less than average number of bumps.
He tends to be much more kind than previous terrorists. Uh, boyfriends. But There's One Big Caveat. He lies. All the time. About lots of things. Lots of times I can't figure out which is truth and which is lies. This makes me paranoid and suspicious. In short, rather crazy. He's open about lying. He's says he's a liar, and I just have to accept that fact. Which is fine when he's resting his head in my lap and I'm petting his hair and we're watching some shitty action flick that amuses him on the TV. It's just really nice to be with someone like that, quietly being together. But then what is this togetherness?
Who am I really with? and how many other women does he do this with? I keep asking him if he could just try to be honest with me. He's never been honest or monogamous with any woman. I try to get him to explore something new. I try to explain why honesty is better in any relationship. Trust. Trust is good, yes? To be able to have some. Seriously, it's like he doesn't speak English or Spanish when I try to discuss this. And he doesn't trust me at all. He always thinks he's catching me when I talk, thinks I've made a mistep, that I've finally revealed that I'm cheating on him.
But I don't cheat or lie. As you reader, must know, I have the opposite problem. Too much Information. So I don't know what to do. I could turn a blind eye to the lying bit, and just enjoy what I have. But I feel that will end badly. I was thinking about an ultimatum, but that's just usually another way of breaking up. I feel like if he would only trust me, and believe that I'm not lying, then he might think about being truthful with me.
And then, of course, there's the thought that he's lying for a reason, and when he does tell the truth, it'll be so awful I will break up with him. Who knows?
