  I just wrote an article on my webiste urlLink here . It's an early thought that I'm just begining to work with.
But, I think it is a good subject to discuss here, as well. Basically, I'm questioning the attitude that "church" should exist primarily as an evangelism outreach program. I'm wondering whether we might be doing ourselves a disservice with our "seeker sensitivity". I'm wondering if church shouldn't be a time for the members to give praise and thanksgiving to God and to receive training, exhortation, and encouragement.
I agree with the apostle Paul that we should not do things in church that cause the unsaved to think we have gone nuts or they will never believe our testimonies. But, I'm really starting to wonder if in making church an evangelism event rather than a maturity event, we have given something up.
