Wednesday Blues Well... I didn't get to bed last night as planned. Instead, I started a new book ("Cannery Row" by John Steinbeck) and then watched a movie ("Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead"). I didn't get to bed until nearly 6am, and then I had trouble getting to sleep. I was up around 7:15am to pee and then Stevie, one of my cats, kept nuzzling my hands, wanting to be pet.
I managed to get to sleep somehow, and finally got up around 3:30pm. I feel ok and all, which is strange considering how poorly I'd slept. Mom gave me a lead on a job (two part-time jobs actually: Plant Operator and Cafeteria Attendant) at a nearby elementary school that I'd never heard of. I called there this afternoon to find out what the hours are, but the people I needed to talk to had already left for the day. I need to call earlier in the day (which means I need to get up earlier in the day). Because they're hiring one person to fill the two part-time jobs, the employee would be eligible for insurance.
Sweet! I talked to Jesse, my oldest nephew, briefly this afternoon. He pretty much blew me off. I was telling him about the basketball tickets my Mom bought for us and he cut me off to tell me he had to go take a shower. He didn't even let me finish telling him who was playing. He really needs to learn some fucking manners. Unfortunately, in his home, manners (and consideration, in general) seem to matter very little. He told me to call him back in half an hour. I didn't call. He and his siblings have things way to easy. They don't appreciate anything, not really. Everything's a given, it's all too easily gained and nothing seems to matter very much to them, which is very unfortunate. I was pretty unhappy after the phone call to my nephew, little did I know things would get worse.
Mom and I got into an argument soon after she got home tonight. I wanted to see where this school was and I told her I wasn't sure where it was or what bus stop I'd have to get off at so I asked her to take me by there and she began mocking me, like "Mommy will take you", like it's so unreasonable to want to see the place where I'm trying to get a job at. Whatever. She has no idea what a total pain in the ass it is not having a car, and not being able to go where I want to, when I want to, on my own. So, fine, whatever. I think I'm going to go list some more cards on eBay now. If I can't be happy, at least I can be productive.
