Been playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City a lot lately. I must say I'm enjoying it far more than the original GTA3. Having businesses is thoroughly addicting... constantly making the rounds to collect cash. The game is still unforgiveable in it's difficulty on certain missions, and I wish they'd just stop with the timed mission crap. It's not that the average gamer isn't capable of replaying a mission... it's that they WON'T WANT TO. That said, the game is still a lot of fun. It's too bad some were turned off by GTA3's difficulty.
Vice City is a little easier, and has a wider variety of elements like running businesses, and buying up property around the city. Still Reading Prisoner's Dilemma. About halfway through. Don't understand how 'science-read' peeps always try to distance Game Theory from Game Design. "Oh they're two separate subjects entirely! " Yes, they are... but they needn't be. After all, it's obvious that the field title Game Theory is aptly named from games of 'strategy conflict'. Funny (though not suprising) that few in the game industry know anything about the subject. Blah blah blah.
Been revisiting Writer's Journey again... this time arranging some of the info in Personal Brain. Some things were just meant to be arranged that way... ;-) Ordered some more books from Amazon... I'm such a gluttonous book hog! Been thinking about emergence and networked complexity some more. I ordered a couple more books on the subject... I think the only books I haven't read so far. After this I'm out of luck on new material until somebody writes it. ;-)
