One of my best friends from home has been married for about three and a half years now. When they got married, she decided not to take his name, as she and her sister are the only children in her father's side of the family. Thus, the family name dies out. I didn't realize that situations like this are occuring all over the place. An urlLink interesting article on FoxNews.com points out various ways to share names with your spouse.
In my friend's case, she kept her last name, while he assumed her last name as a second middle name. An interesting approach - I remember her saying that he was going to drop it again because it was too confusing to explain to people. As for me, who knows if I'll assume Mr. Right's last name? My first goal is to find Mr. Right - the rest is just details...
