New Year's Eve was interesting, as always. This is the first year since I moved up here that I didn't have anyone visiting to ring in the new year. It's a good thing, too. Usually, much alcohol is imbibed immediately upon my return home from work. Then I generally stumble to a party where I make an ass of myself, and leave just in time to make it to Boston Harbor for the fireworks. urlLink Last year , on the way home from the harbor, I struck up a conversation with an Israeli man on the bus - about nuclear armament in North Korea. This year, however, I came home from work and took a nap. Around 8:30, Christin and I headed out to the two parties where we planned to make an appearance. As an aside here, can I just tell you how nice it is to live within walking distance of my friends?
Back to the story. The first party was at my friend's boyfriend's apartment. As we were the first people there, it was a little awkward at first, but urlLink Rolling Rock always helps out in those situations. After some pleasant conversation, we decided to head up the street to Michi's house before we got too intoxicated (with our empty stomachs, and all - in hindsight, we probably should have eaten dinner). We arove at Michi's around 10:15, and I finished the 6-pack of urlLink Bud Light that I brought before midnight.
With no one to kiss at midnight, I decided to guzzle on a glass of urlLink Old New England Egg Nog . The details are a bit hazy after the egg nog started flowing. I remember talking to a guy whose last name was Weed. And his birthday is April 20. I shit you not. I actually looked at his driver's license to confirm. At least I think I did.
