urlLink Power Line just got finished live-blogging Dr. Condoleeza Rice's testimony before the 9/11 commission. I have to make a deadline today (which is now approaching me like a possessed 18-wheeler with satan at the wheel) and I wasn't able to see it for myself. If what the Power Line guy says is true, she didn't do a great job. Not bad, but not good either, and she really needed to do well to blunt the impact of Richard Clarke's testimony.
This isn't a victory for the Bushies, just a holding action. It's not going to help Bush's reelection chances. The president's reelection chances are also being hurt by the uprisings in Iraq now and the Baathist remnants and the Shiites acting as Iran's cat's paw have figured that out. All they need to do is keep up a steady state of telegenic violence and they can defeat George Bush and bring in the man they know they can intimidate -- John Kerry. I fear for my country.
