Today is great. It's 73 degrees out. My house is approaching clean. I am more relaxed than an addict on Valium. Summer vacation is almost here. The end is in sight. And already my brain is shifting out of work mode. Man, did I earn it this year... Ali and Dan came over last night. We hung out here, then at Center Springs Park, then back here.
I'm glad I get along with them so well, considering the amount of time I'm going to be spending with them this year. I fell asleep talking to myself last night. It went something like this: "Cast off. Paddle away from the shores you know in search of greater adventures in the seas that you don't.
" And then a lot of variants of the same. Reminds me of a Sam Clemens quote: "Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. " - Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens I guess what I'm saying is that things are going well.
I use the word "zen" often. I'm not sure I know what it means. But who cares? I use it to mean that place where all is well... where I'm grounded in who I am and where I'm from... where I'm comfortable in my own skin... where all is still - or active - or anything else, and I can roll with it, because I know myself, and I know that I can handle it. The day is calling. I will answer. Call if you want to be part of the wonder.
