It's early May and it's 88 degrees outside. Man, was today a great day for the beach. Right now I'm in the process of cooking dinner before we take off for VC rehearsal. ("We" being myself, Clayton, Dan, and Bea. ) Took a mental health day today, and relaxed in the sun trying to refocus on stuff. I have started leaning toward returning to my current district next year because they've offered me the high school chorus position. Of course, this is all tentative until the budget passes, but assuming things are going as well as I think they are, there shouldn't be much of a problem securing the job. I can't believe that the year is almost over. As much hell as it's been, I look back on the year and it seems like it just... disappeared. A year of my life, spent.. and not spent as well as I might have liked. I'm very thankful that there have been many good points to counteract the bad ones, and even the ones that started bad have not all stayed so. Such is the way of my life, and (I surmise) all things under the sun as well. Life is lumpy, I read once. Nothing is perfect, and if you think it should be so then you are being unrealistic. Lumps are a pain in our backside, but we're still standing after them.
Often we are changed as a result, and this is a good thing as well -- we grow through our crap into something better and wiser. Kind of like a phoenix, except without the whole fire thing. I wish I could have more conversations with people about life and philosophy and why things are the way they are and what we understand and what we don't and so many other things.
But people don't seem to think that way every day... or at least don't talk about it if they do. I analyze things - it's who I am. Anyone out there want to bounce rhetoric around? Look me up. Back to dinner and more tangible things that need my immediate attention. Ehren out.
