Wow. We've spent three days here at my aunt's and it's been amazing. We've gone and experienced the seediness that is Tijuana and the craziness at Pacific Beach. We went surfing with my uncle Jorge and eaten like kings here at the house. And it's been amazing, relaxing, and just incredible. They've taken us in and seem to have enjoyed having us here as much as we've enjoyed staying... maybe even more so, if that's possible.
I haven't blogged much in the past few days because I've just been enveloped in being here, in experiencing it with every fiber of my being. Blogging just didn't fit into that plan too well. Now I'm back, and I'm sure Kinko's will assist in that regard. I've rediscovered the wonders of Southern California while I've been here. The natural beauty and the amazing climate are just perfect. I am making mental plans to move here when I finish college in two years. Anyone who is cool and wants in is most welcome.
I'll be damned if I know how I can recreate an artistic niche out here, but I bet I can make it happen. Life is too short to not follow my dreams, and this is one of them. Tomorrow, Dan and I set out north up the coast on the Pacific Coast Highway. We're making a stop in Santa Monica to see some old friends of mine, Dan and Pete. I'm looking forward to that. I haven't seen them in at least a year, probably longer. Then we make for San Francisco, camping up the coast. The only place that I know of that I want to stop is Big Sur. Other than that, the sky's the limit.
And we've already shown that lack of planning makes for an awesome trip. So who knows what's going to happen? Surely not me. I can't wait. San Diego has been the perfect stop after about 3300 miles on the road, and there are many more things ahead of us to enjoy. Whether camping, hostelling, or crashing with newfound friends, the remainder of the trip is promising to be as good if not better than the first.
It's all about how I perceive it. And right now, I can't imagine it being anything short of great. For now, that will do. Missing you all, but having the time of my life... I'm still Ehren
