Good topic. My theme for this summer so far has been, "Who do these kids think they are?". It stemmed from an incident at Cedar Point back in May.
We were going to get on a rollercoaster (I can't remember which one) and we got up to the top of the stairs and were at the point where everyone fans out to get in an individual line for a row.
This girl in front of us goes to the right and then stands back against the wall, seemingly not in a line. It is not too full, since it's a slow day, so there is at least a 5 foot gap from where the end of the lines are to where she is standing. I figure that she's waiting for a friend, so we get in a line in front of her. She waits a moment and then makes her move, "EXCUSE ME!
" (In this snotty teenager tone, of course). So we move on to another line. Flash forward about 2 hours. Millenium Force line. This line is about a 30-40 minute wait and the longest wait at the park at the time (It was a slow day, ). Anyway, long story short, she's behind us in line quite a bit and shouting to her friends, who are in front of us a ways. Well, ..... As we move up and down the queues she line jumps by about a total of 150-200 people to get up to her friends.
They just don't have common decency anymore, their lives are too fast paced. Remember when you were a kid, and you would "play". Kids don't play anymore, they have "playdates" and fucking Franklin Planners. Plus today's children are innundated from the womb with advertising. Carmakers design new models for people who don't even have licenses yet. The Dodge Razor concept car comes with Razor scooters. WTF! And in America our test scores, grades, etc are all going downhill. Have you seen what amounts to a "small" serving of french fries at fast food places?
Remember when that was a large? IT IS! McDonalds even has "Big Kid Happy Meals". Obesity will become an epidemic. This will create more jobs in the medical field but these kids won't be qualified for them! Who's going to take care of me when I'm old? Where's my Social Security going to come from? I think my generation will be hard pressed to have the economic freedom of our parents, the baby boomers. It's already happening. Sorry for going off on a unibomber rant there.

If I could only build myself a shack..... out in the woods.....
