I'm answering phones for the rest of the day and the past 40 minutes have been the scariest of my life.
I had to call a courier, print stamps and use (and find) the typewriter, all of which I've never done before. I also hung up on the same vice-president three times. And she's the media vice-president. I think she hates me now (but I stayed until 7 last night, so something must be good about me, right?). And everyone else is upstairs drinking beer and having fun - I can hear them laughing. Alas, not for me.
But I do get as many M&Ms as I can eat. Fridays here are fun, especially when I'm not answering the phones. But I really like answering the phones. I guess it evens out. I read The Knitting Sutra . I didn't like it as much as The Joy of Knitting , but it was still pretty good. I am definintely going to buy The Joy of Knitting. Maybe tomorrow. It has some good patterns in it.
I did learn a lot in both books about creating my own patterns the spirituality of craft. I was cruising on my mohair sweater but my wrist has taken a turn for the worse and I'm off the needles for a few days. It hurts just to push buttons on a calculator, so I'm going to get this special glove that will massage my wrist and the poor hurt tendons.
When I have money (and I never will - I get paid on Monday and then immediately have to pay my rent, which is actually more than my paycheck), I am going to buy ribbon yarn and some of the stuff with sequins already attached to the yarn. I also would like the Beyonce CD. Okay, I am having a really rough phone day and just hang up on people all over the place. I didn't used to be like this! But then again, there are a million crazy things happening. I was not cut out to be a receptionist.
