*Peeks out from under the table* Has it been over 2 weeks since i last blogged?? hee, I was supposed to finish writing my review of love actually , but I never got round to doing it. *sheepish smile* And now, I have 3 movies to review, all of which I had better write before I watch LOTR - Return of the King next week.
Because of the numerous movies I'm reviewing, I'll not do a detailed review. Besides, I'm sure none of you are interested in reading a detailed review anyway since tons of them can be found on the Net or in newspapers. Most recent movie: Kal Ho Naa Ho (KHNH) Yup, I just got back from my first Hindi movie at a theatre. Usually, I just borrow VCDs and watch them and I don't watch Hindi movies very often. Kal Ho Naa Ho stars the oh-so-famous Shah Rukh Khan. Like most Hindi films, KHNH is essentially a love story. Set in New York and tells the tale of a three friends and their families. And like most Hindi films, retelling the plot is a bitch because it is so damn convoluted and has too many characters.
So read the urlLink link for more details. I'm just going to add my two cents worth. I can't pretend to be a connoiseur of Hindi movies because I average about one every 3 years. Any-hoo, I enjoyed this movie. The dialogue was surprisingly funny with tons of cheesy jokes, which I don't usually tolerate but, I would rather hear bad jokes than sappy dialogue. The plot didn't have too many loopholes (none that I can remember of hand) and the acting wasn't stilted.
It helps, of course, if the actors are good looking and Saif Ali Khan most definitely was. Moving on... The music and dancing was certainly entertaining. There was actually a tragedy (yes someone died), and the ending was bittersweet. Not bad for a movie over 3 hours long. Boy, was it long. Overall: It was good. Can't give a price rating cos all Hindi movies cost $10. Heh.
