So much to say and so little time to say it in. That's the story of my journal as of right now. I have been busy with schoolwork and videogames for a few days now. I don't even have time to sleep, so you can imagine how much time I have to write in this, not much. That said, it should be known that I am biting a chunk out of my precious Shenmue II playing time to bring you this very special edition of Jareth's Little Ball That He Throws Crazily . The main reason I am doing this is not so much that I want to appease my loyal fans who have been dissapointed by my lack of interesting updates these past couple days.
It is more a matter of needing to get some stuff off my chest. The first thing I must adress, since it has been bothering me for four days now, is the crashing and burning of the space shuttle Columbia. It seems like everyone in the world and every news channel on tv is wigging out about this. I guess they have a good reason, NASA probably spent (and lost) a ton of money on this mission, and of course, seven astronauts lost their lives in this "tragedy". To me however, this was not a big deal AT ALL. I'm puzzled as to why normal people care even a smidgen about these astronauts, I sure as hell don't care about them, and why should I?
I don't know them, nobody that I know knows them, so why should I care about them? To me they are nothing. People die all the time, millions every day, and nobody says anything about them. Dying sucks, yes, but it happens to everyone . So I refuse to say anything about these astronauts deaths as if they were more special than anyone else. Another thing- astronauts are dumb for going into space in the first place, it is an extremely dangerous thing to do, but they want to be the big heroes, well we all see where that got 'em.
Some people just don't get the big picture. There is nothing cool in space, so what do they expect when they go up there? It's cold as fuck, there's no oxygen (which is required to sustain human life, in case these kooks didn't know), and there is nothing there, just a bunch of sattelites. Wow! Isn't space fun?! Umm, not exactly.
I'll take a break from my ranting for a moment to talk about how school's going. It's kind of funny how the situation is developing. Instead of doing bad in math, like I was last time, i'm doing freaking abysmal in computers. I have so many zeros in there i'm too scared to count, and every day it gets worse because she assigns us like five things a day and I do maybe one of them, if i'm in the mood. I know what i'm getting in there on my interim...a big fat F. Ouch. Nevertheless, there is some good news to this dreary story.
In my other three classes Algebra 2, English 2, and Spanish 1 I am doing great. I have a solid B+ in English, and every day it moves closer to an A. I have either a high B or low A in Spanish, which is awesome. In math I am even doing good, unlike the previous two semesters this year (last year I got 2 A's), so that is a great feeling. The cool thing about all of this is I am actually starting to enjoy school now that i've been doing my homework every time it is assigned and getting good grades. I sometimes look forward to school as well, which has always been a rare occurance throughout my educational career. Peachy.
The subject of my weekend has been avoided thus far but will no longer be able to escape my storytelling clutches. I don't know what to tell ya, besides this one was a weird one folks. It was so far out that at one point I seriously thought I was dreaming, but that might have beeen my psychosis acting up again. In any case, I had some considerable fun this weekend and I kept the boredom to a minimum. On friday night Chris and Louie came by my house unexpectedly, and a little later we made a surprise appearance at, of all places, the card shop. It was really crazy and cool at the same time to be back there, mindblowing really.
Practically everyone that I remember from the card shop when it moved a couple years ago was there friday, that really surprised me. The coolest thing of all is that Twitch now runs the joint. He has always been one of the coolest guys there and one that was always nice and helpful to Chris and I even though we didn't quite fit in with the regulars. It is awesome to have the cardshop back in business right near us, and even better is the fact that there is a tournament nearly every day of the week, not to mention for a cheaper price and bigger payoff. The Magic community seems to be bigger and stronger than ever too, as dorky as these people might be, that's nice to know. The coming of the card shop couldn't have came at a better time either, right when we start to get back into the game we are told that the cardshop just recently moved back near us, score.
Since the new card shop not only lived up to my expectations but also exceeded them I look forward to going there and hangin with the old school geeks and beating their ass at a good old game of M:TG. Back on focus, nothing big happened on this particular night, it was more of a time to get reaquainted with the whole experience. Since we missed the tournament Chris and I just played a couple games amongst ourselves and left. We got a ride home from his mom and almost directly after arriving at his house we left to go to Eric Leb's. We were going there to watch the Kings Vs. Lakers game. On the way there it was really foggy and we were trying to navigate ourselves through a long ass path through the trails.
It was at this time when I began to feel like I was dreaming. For one I couldn't believe I had just been to the card shop and for two, I couldn't see shit, thus making it seem like a dream. Being at Eric's house for the first time in my life didn't help matters much. That was an odd experience, it was late at night and Chris was falling asleep, leaving me to fend for myself with Eric, whom I don't know very well at all. Luckily it wasn't that bad because Chris was talking in his sleep, saying crazy shit and making weird noises, so that made it very easy to communicate, and laugh, with the Lebmyster. We were scheduled to go back to Chris's that night (this is still friday people) to go to sleep, but since Chris had already been dozing off and probably wouldn't make it home in the dark, Eric let us stay at his house.
This turned out to be a crazy situation in the morning, when we woke up in this foreign bedroom (we were in some guestroom, while Eric was in his), wondering where the hell we were. After sneaking around for a bit, ya know, to avoid the parentals, we found Eric downstairs and ate some breakfast. McDonalds for those who are wondering, that's what you get for breakfast when you make 10 billion dollars a year. Later we went home and were dissapointed to find that nobody was living up to their plans to go to hurst and play the mighty dicathlon of sports. Eventually, at around four, we got everyone except for Zac up there to play. It wasn't quite as fun as I anticipated, but it would have sucked a whole lot worse if me and Louie hadn't beaten Chris and Mike at Grunge Match style football with a last minute fumble return for a touchdown.
Oh Yeahhh!! Ok, so Chris's previously injured leg did wig out on the play, but that doesn't matter, because like Shaq once said "the only stat that counts is the W." I admit it, I have omitted some rather integral parts of my weekend. Like the whole movies mishap, not mentioned whatsoever. And the part about Jocelyn and the whitey-blackey-lover-girl overhearing our devious plans(easily one of the more embarassing things I have ever been through), not included. However, I would consider these things minor, and not worth mentioning because they are either A) Boring or B) Too lengthy for my lazy ass to explain. The two very last major events that occured this weekend are the following: I purchased 3 DVDs(I was gonna get 5 DVDs but I had to put two of them back because they were rated R and Wal-Mart, being the blistering hemroids that they are, wouldn't let me buy them) and a game, and my tv blew up.
My tv had been spazzing out, making loud noises and going blurry, every so often for about the last month. It reached its limit this weekend and just shut off, and wouldn't turn back on. My initial reaction was "oh well, i'll just get another one", but when my dad said I would have to wait at least 2 weeks to get a new one I took things into my own hands. I unplugged everything from the entertainment center, loosely organized the cords and controllers on my ground, and arranged a makeshift setup using my dresser as the tv stand. It works quite well, and now I can play games in comfort, on my bed. Where before I used to always have to sit in awkward positions and permanently jack up my spine.
Oh yeah, in case you didn't catch it, I fixed my tv now and it's all good. Very cool. Before I stop writing this overly long, rushed, dullness filled journal entry I figure I will make it longer and even more unbearable with a few more of my complaints...You know something that pisses me off? When people don't flush the toilet. At school or otherwise, this is unacceptable behavior, plain and simple. Why the hell would you not flush the toilet?
Because you are a nasty ass bitch is why. I always find myself flushing 4 or 5 urinals a day when I see that the person before didn't flush it, this sickens me. I can't believe these disgusting assholes. This can definitely be considered a pet peeve of mine. So if you are one of the dirty, homo-erotic individuals who does this sort of thing you better not let me see you do it or I am gonna personally slam your head into the urinal and flush your gay ass down the drain. You have been warned.
The next group to stand up to the podium of shame are the people who wear board shorts to school, elementary kid lookalikes that go to my high school, and people with a lisp. Ahhh... you kooks who wear boardshorts (another name for the surfer style swimming trunks) to school, how I loathe thee. I will not insult and make fun of you in a lengthy manner, I will only point and laugh. For real though, what's is up with these dumbasses? It doesn't look cool to dress like this at school, it is not cool to be a surfer, and this is not the beach . As for the young looking kids who populate the halls of Seabreeze High School whom I laugh ever so wildy at - what the fuck happened to you?
I'm not even joking on this one, what is wrong with these bastards? I know preschoolers who look older than them. If you go to my school and have no idea what i'm talking about take one look at Joey Sorocco and you will see the light. Finally I come to people with a lisp, to these people I have nothing to say...besides that having a lisp is the most outrageously crazy and gay thing that can happen to a person, and I am so glad I don't have a speech impediment. At this point I am feeling pretty uninspired, and with good reason, you wouldn't feel like writing anymore either after you finished typing six million words. Despite feeling very tired I know how much a good conclusion can help a journal, so I won't let ya down.
I will end this with that excellent Louie joke that I mentioned in an entry about a week back, it goes a little somethin like this: Louie: Hey my mom wants to know if you'll help her plant tulips sometime next week for a hundred bucks an hour. Random Girl: Really? A hundred bucks an hour? Wow! Yeah, i'll do it. Louie: Yeah it's cool ain't it, my mom's crazy like that.
All you have to do is plant tulips. Random Girl: That's awesome, I can't wait. So when is it exactly? Louie: Umm next week sometime, i'll tell you the day tommorow or something, I have to ask her. Random Girl: (now exuberant with excitement and enthusiasm) Oh. That's really cool though!
Louie: Yep, it's gonna be me, you, and my mom, it'll be fun. Random Girl: I know I know, and we're gonna make a hundred bucks an hour! Louie: Yep, so aren't you even gonna ask where you're doing this at? Random Girl: Where? Louie: Well...You're gonna plant tulips, but the only place you're plant two-lips is on my dick!!! (hardy har har)
