You know what I think? I think that Jesseca Wales is the best girl in the whole world . I have come to a point in Zelda where I can accurately judge how good it is. I could talk for hours about how much the game rocks my socks and how fun it is, but I will only say this: "I Loooove it" - Snoop Dogg style. The NBA Regular season has come to a close at last. I thought there were some pretty surprising playoff pairings, but that's just me.
However, it is time to take your picks for who will win their respective conferences. Here are mine: In the West we have the L.A. Lakers. This should come as no surprise to anyone who read what I wrote about the Lakers a little while back... and in the East I will take the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons were more of a hometown favoritism thing, but hey, it's not like it will matter who wins the East anyways. I predict the Lakers will win it all of course. Man it is going to be so funny if the Lakers lose...
In other news - Mother 1 + 2 and Mother 3 have been officially announced to be in development for Game Boy Advance. Hold on let me let that sink in for a minute before I explain... OK. Translation: The best game ever made [Earthbound in the US, Mother 2 in Japan], which also happens to be my favorite game since I was 8 years old, and its prequel [Mother, never before released in the U.S.] will be ported, on the same cartridge, onto the GBA on June 20th (in Japan). As if that weren't enough good news for one day, or even a year, the long awaited sequel (that was "canceled" a long time ago), Mother 3/ Earthbound 2, has also been revealed to be in development for the GBA. You do not know how much joy this brings me, and I won't even try to explain because it would sound too dorky, but to quote Coach Skipper - "This is awesome folks, awesome. " That's not all of the surprise announcements I have up my sleeve... How about this one.
Bad Karma [or in this case "Good Karma"] is back in production! This comes after probably a year or more of not doing anything skit related, how cool. I can't reveal any of the actual skits that were done on here because we're only showing the tape to trusted friends this time around, but trust me, they are crazy. If you don't believe me then take John's word for it and BELIEVE THIS : On day one, we go to the park, we get stopped by the cops. Almost directly after we go to Shadow Lakes, the cops wig out on us, again (same ones too lol). To sum it up, we've been filming for about 6 hours at most and we've already been hassled by the man twice, now what does that tell ya?
It tells me that there's plenty more where that came from. I've watched 4 movies in the last 3 days, so it's time to give my little mini review of them all. If you're not into movies or whatever then you can stop reading now because there's gonna be nothing else past this point. If this applies to you, see you later, movie hater. For the rest of you [normal] people, let's begin... Silent Night Deadly Night 3: I honestly wasn't expecting much from this movie, seeing as the first two in the series blew large balls when realistically considered as films. Although I will admit that they were great for laughs.
So how does this movie size up to its predecessors? It was much, much worse. I can't believe the higher ups at this company would allow anyone to release such a catastrophe! The acting was horrible, the story didn't make sense, and there were like 5 lines of dialogue in the whole movie. The one good thing about this movie is that it's so stupid it's funny. Please watch this movie only if you're an asshole.
Silent Night Deadly Night 4: The "continuation" of the movie I just talked about, the only problem is the two have nothing to do with eachother whatsoever. This is definitely the Halloween 3 of the series. In lamans terms, the black sheep. Just when you thought a movie couldn't get worse, this sucker rolls around the corner and slaps you in the face. Clint Howard has a starring role in it for god's sake, what more do I have to say? Oh, how about it's gross (not in a good way by any means), has an ugly girl getting nude in it, depicts a man getting jabbed in the stomach with the stick end of a broom, and involves cultish lesbian ceremonies where bugs get spewed out of people's mouths.
Now that is trash. This movie isn't funny at all either, so don't even think about redeeming qualities. Silent Night Deadly Night 5: Do you see a pattern here? This one is actually a little better than the other two, but not by much. The plot revolves around a maniacal toy maker, humorously named "Joe Petto", who creates his own killer toys and sends them out to little boys and girls at christmas time. It does sound kind of cool, and that's why it was better than 3 & 4, but sadly, when compared to practically any other movie in existence, it is a bad joke.
With that in mind, i'll humor myself and judge it as if it weren't a piece of trash. There was a cool twist at the end where something happens and you don't think it will... ahhh who am I kidding - just take my advice and never watch this movie ever. The Ring: No jokes here, this was a good movie. One thing I noticed was that the directing and cinematography were pretty good, almost to the point where it seemed like a Sundance movie, but not quite. That's alright though, because this movie does what it sets out to do, and that is to scare the crap out of you. It sets the mood very early and keeps you interested until the very end.
There is only one cheap "SURPRISE! " scare to speak of, and the rest of the terror comes from the film's ability to get into your mind and freak you out. It does a good job of that...until the end. Let me try to say this without spoiling anything. One of the best things the movie has going for it is its mystery, because let's face it, there is no director in the world that could think of more stuff that freaks you out than your own brain. When your imagination goes on its own course and thinks of all these horrific things on its own, there is nothing scarier.
If the people who made it would realize this then the movie would probably be a lot better. As it is though, the only thing wrong is that the end explains why the people died or didn't die, and it's a stupid reason (I thought), and would be better left unsaid. Besides that, this is a solid and very scary movie. Despite my minor grievances, it's definitely a good one to bring home from the movie store because it is entertaining, and overall, it is a good flick. And now I go to sleep.
