It turns out that Jesseca went and did some crazy shit all day, so I was left to sit around and do nothing. She called me at like 6, and since then i've been playing Super Ghouls N Ghosts and Ghosts N Goblins; the sequel and prequel, respectively. In case you didn't know, they are two of the hardest games ever made. As far as that goes, I have some good news and some bad news. First, the good news. I finally managed to beat SGNG. It's a good thing I did too, because if I didn't succeed this time I would have smashed the cartridge with a sledgehammer. It wasn't really worth all the trouble I went through, but it was good to have some closure on that damn game. Secondly, I was NOT able to beat Ghosts N Goblins. Well I made it all the way through, but once you do that you have to do it all over again with some crazy weapon.
I dunno, after a while I got pissed off and just quit. It wasn't really worth it anyway. It's not easy for me to recount the level of frustration I had while playing the game, but I found this review that says exactly what I wanna say -- "Back in the old days, NES games were hard. Not just hard--old school NES games were like a big mean kid on the playground that made you eat dirt and say you like it. Except Ghosts 'N Goblins doesn't just make you eat dirt, it makes you eat broken glass. Then it rubs your face on the concrete, kicks you in the back of the head, pees on you, and laughs at your pain.
" "How did they test market this game? Maybe they gave it to a roomful of kids and kept upping the difficulty until it made them all cry. I would say this is easily the hardest Nintendo game ever made, and that's saying a lot. Challenge is usually a good thing, but taken to this extreme it's definitely not. " Props go to that dude for explaining it so perfectly. The entire review can be found urlLink here .
I encourage everyone who's at all interested to read it because it's surprisingly well written and it tells more about that piece of shit game... well that's about all for right now. I'm kind of in bad mood because of the Jesseca situation so I don't feel like writing very much. I will wig out tomorrow. Whether or not that means I will write in this is for you to decide.
