A Rant About How Much It SUCKS To Work Downtown I HATE riding the C-train. I HATE all the stupid people who are already on the train before me.
I ESPECIALLY HATE the stupid people who can't move a little bit further into the aisle so that people at the train station don't have to wait for yet another train. ESPECIALLY when it's -19C outside. Because you can do the friggin chicken dance if you're in the aisle, there's that much room, but anyone in the doorways are crammed in like sardines.
I HATE traffic. I HATE the stupid people who drive 80km/h on the freeway when it's plenty safe enough for the 100km/h speed limit. I HATE the stupid people in SUVs and big trucks who tailgate me when 40 is the fastest I can safely go on the icy side streets. Then again, keep it up - I wouldn't mind a new bumper at your expense. I HATE leaving home at 6:30am and getting to work at 7:30am. I miss having a stress-free 5-minute drive to work. I HATE arriving at work and leaving again with all the other lemmings.
I HATE working downtown. On that same token .

A Rant About How Much My New Job Still SUCKS WHY? WHY did I have to leave my old job? SURE , they were all chauvinistic pigs there. BUT , they were less so around me cuz they knew I knew stuff they didn't, and joked back with them. I HATE how I still don't know a whole lot at my new job. I HATE how everyone else has a purpose, work to keep them busy all day long.
I HATE how I'm the only one who doesn't seem to know what their job is. I HATE how I have to bug other people for work when I get bored. Which is all the time lately. Because they're all busy. And have to stop what they're doing to give me something to do. I HATE how I seem like the stupidest person here. Because I'm not. At least, I'm not a stupid person. Because I used to be one of the smartest people at my old job. And that felt good. And this doesn't.
I'm constantly paranoid that one day, my boss is going to come in and say "Come see me in my office" and I'll go and he'll give me a talking to for wasting time on the internet, when really, I've been around to so many people asking "Is there anything I can help you with? " and they say "No" or "I'll see" and then they never get back to me cuz they're all busy. IT SUCKS. I WISH I'd never left my old job. But then I wouldn't have an RRSP plan, or a real benefit plan, that ends up covering most of BF's dental surgery cuz his plan sucks.
And then my friend wouldn't have a regular job that she seems to like. And I would probably be getting paid less. But I wouldn't HATE traffic as much. I wouldn't have to HATE taking the train, because I wouldn't have to take it. I wouldn't have to feel guilty about wasting time on the internet, because I'd know what to do to keep myself busy. Or it just wouldn't matter. I HATE how the hours are so rigid here. "7:30am to 5pm" , no flexibility.
Gotta leave early for a doctor's appointment? Better make it up to the minute by working lunch hours! Or staying late! Old job said - is your working getting done? Is there anything urgent that needs attention? No? Then don't worry about it! We're not keeping track! Here, nobody likes someone who wants to bend the rules to suit them. There, nobody cares, so long as the work gets done. THIS SUCKS.
