The Evil Addictiveness That Is The Sims Has anyone else come across this highly addictive game? It's kinda of old by now, but they keep coming up with expansion packs - Hot Date, Livin' Large, a pets one . . . Whosever brainchild this was knew what they were doing! I can play that game for hours and not know how much time has gone by (except Sims' time, that is!). You control these little people, how happy they are, or even how miserable they are. You can make them marry, have kids, renovate their home while their at work, or sleeping, or heck, even under their noses! Anyone who denies that people are control freaks on some level is indeed in denial. *L* I only have the basic version, none of the expansion packs yet. This weekend I was introduced to the Hot Date version. Now I want more! The characters are no longer confined to their homes and the lot surrounding them . . .
they can venture "downtown", and return home as if time had never passed! If only real life was like this .
. .
get up an hour early for work, take a 2-day jaunt for entertainment and shopping, and still return in time to leave for work as if nothing had happened. Can you imagine how different life would be? I have one family that I mainly play with. It started out with one girl .
. .
she was a career girl, in the police force, and I was beginning to suspect she was more attracted to females. Yes, despite all the control you have, they will still develop their own personality with likes and dislikes. She got along so much better with the women that came by to visit than the men. She would interact with both, but develop a 'heart' for the women much quicker than the men. I was getting concerned .
. .
I wanted her to marry so there'd be two incomes and I could make a huge house with all the fancy accoutrement. (No, I'm not materialistic *L*). So I created a 'family' of three men, figuring at least one of them had to spark her interest!
After a frustrating few 'days' - in which they would come calling and she would stubbornly stand and twiddle her thumbs instead of greeting them as I told her to do - she finally started getting to know them all. It quickly became apparently that one stood out, and after 4 separate rejections (she proposed), she finally lucked out. I since made them have a kid, and I'm curious to see if he ever grows to be an adult. Anyways, it's all pointless nonsense, but I felt like blogging about it this morning.
