Saw the whole family (mom's side, at least) yesterday, all my little cousins (I think there are about 482) are growing up and are less scared of me now. My mom's family isn't really very tall, so I'm easily the tallest person in the house, by a large margin.
The wee ones don't seem to understand that and generally get quiet and wide-eyed when I'm in a room. But now that most of them are past that 2-4 year mark, that seems to have faded. Now they just ignore me like most girls. Hah! My trip out was good, the flight stopped in St. Louis and the usually-1-hour leg from there to Detroit turned into 2 because of storms in the Detroit area. The pilot just sort of flew around for nearly an hour, banking and gaining altitude, then dropping again, etc.
I thought he was lost until we got into Detroit and I saw hot soaked everything was. On the first leg of the trip some guy got wretchedly drunk and started asking everyone if he could use their cell phone. Everyone said either 1) I don't have one or 2) it won't work up here. He didn't really like those responses, and refused to believe that it wouldn't work (nevermind that you're not even allowed to try, per FAA regulations), eventually becoming a bit put-out that we were denying him his God-given right to make drunk calls to ex-girlfriends at 2 in the afternoon.
Air Travel: Experience the Magic of In-Flight Cocktails! Today will be relaxing and then it's off to a Tigers game (worst in the nation! Quite possibly worst record in the history of baseball if they don't get at least a few more wins! ) tonight. Then I'm in the car for a few (read: 9) hours for the drive to Virginia.
