Apparently I'm in a "bad mood" today. I really object to being labeled that way when I'm not, because it's self-fulfilling. It's like telling someone they look sick; you do it enough and yeah, they start to feel ill. But despite that I still have lots to do, like write an essay for the Moot Court people on "Why I'd be a Good Addition to the Moot Court Board". It's only a page, so I'm not going to put to much effort into it. Besides, any reader of this blog knows that it takes almost no effort (and little actual thinking! ) for me to fill up a page of text. I wish I had more to comment on these days - having a blog is supposed to be more than "let's see, today I'm doing laundry, and then working out, and then..." because who the hell cares about that? But I really have to reach to find non-personal, interesting items. I've decided that personal items, at least past a certain point, should be verbotten.
I don't mind theorizing on relationships and friendships, but when I start approach the whine-stage (or I'm only pretending to "theorize" and am actually talking about me) that's too much. Jason's blog reminded me that Buffy was pretty damn good last night. I think it had been 3 or 4 weeks since the last new episode, but last night's made up for it. The new guy, Caleb, sure is a crapweasel. Plus if he's human why the hell is he so strong? Watching Faith re-interact with the whole crew was amusing, especially with Spike. I really hate the whole Buffy-Spike thing, so maybe Faith (who seems much more his speed anyway) will put an end to that. I doubt it, but I can hope. Buffy/Spike is almost as disturbing as Cordelia/Connor over on Angel, and that got resolved when we found out it wasn't Cordy, it was an evil demon thing.
New Angel tonight! I could rant further on the whole Buffy thing, but that would probably alienate half of my readers (2 people) so let's hold off on that, shall we? It's time for lunch anyhow. Clarification Because I Can't Help It: I like Buffy as a character, and I like Spike as a character.
I think they're both great. But the idea that she should be in love with him is just so far beyond the bounds of realistic relationships (note I didn't say reality - it's a show about vampires, after all) and feelings that it just makes me cringe. It smacks of desperation by the writers, who are torn between providing a "happy ending" for the two of them and the far more realistic portrayal of their purely physical relationship from last season. Last season made more sense, says I.
