Everybody's crapping themselves over the Return of the King, which makes me more excited to see it even if it's three and half freakin hours long. I don't really care about movie lengths, but why haven't they reintroduced the idea of an Intermission? I'm sure there's somewhere in the middle that would allow a 5 or 10 minute break, and since the damn thing is already clocking in at 3+ hours, it wouldn't be that much of an inconvenience to theater owners.
Rather schizophrenic post today. I gots lots to do, packing for Virginia and cleaning the apartment and compiling the stuff I need for paper-writing over the break. I almost decided to rant about the idiocy of "Scarborough Country" (an O'Reilly-ish show on MSNBC) but it's too lame to convey via print. Regardless, I will say that when Bernard Goldberg is your "media commentator", you're not exactly straddling the line between balanced and fervently anti-liberal anymore. Maybe it's not supposed to be unbiased, but good lord is it poorly done. I also caught a bit of the master himself (O'Reilly) on FOX late last night, and if it's possible, he's gotten stupider than ever before. He attempted to argue with a priest about Jesus, and then with Madeleine Albright about foreign policy.
Dear Bill, You're so far out of your league, watching your rebuttal is like watching a monkey throwing feces at the zoo. Please return to having brain-dead guests that you can threaten into submission. Thanks, Everybody. PS. I find it sad that Albright even came on The Factor. Sad days for Maddy.
