Okay so I'm watching the "new" Meet My Folks thing on NBC. I say new because it used to be on, like last year or something, and it was far more entertaining. Now, instead of 3 "potentials" and 1 other person, they start with 8 or so. And it goes over 2 days, eliminating them all. So anyway, this time it's 1 guy and 8 girls, which is fine, except all the girls are pretty much morons. When I saw it last time, they weren't all that superficial plastic-ish type, some seemed to have an actual brain.
Now, it's like watching the Bachelor or TRL or something. Not that it wasn't high culture to begin with, but I liked the element of truth (the parents decide everything, not the idiot who is the center of attention) that the show contained. That's pretty much wiped out now. And the guy who's in the middle of it all is a moron. Argh! I hate him so much!!!
Sigh. And don't get me started on the polygraph. You can't put a person under huge stress on a poly and expect accurate results. These poor girls are being asked hugely personal questions by people that they're trying to impress, and we're supposed to expect that their responses are valid? Hell no. The freaky sex chick on this one looks alot like Jason's friend Rochelle.
Except Rochelle was more attractive. So there's my rant against this particular show. Most reality shows annoy me in general, because the people who are on them are complete tools. Not that I wouldn't be on one, but if I was it would never air because it'd be the most boring episode of whatever the hell show it was. Real World San Diego: "Sam we need to have a house meeting. " "Later, I'm playing GTA3.
" "Sam, that's all you ever do. Nobody even knows you're on this show. " "You're blocking the screen. " Today was boring, although I did decide to have a get together for the Superbowl. Just study group and a couple others - obviously it has to be small, given that my apartment is only big enough to hold 1 person comfortably. And "comfortably" is a stretch.
Found out that grades won't be out until Jan. 27, which sucks but I'm in no hurry to see my little illusions of intelligence shattered. Actually, I don't care that much about myself, but I know some people don't have enough faith in themselves already, and some mediocre grades could really put a depressing mood on things. The sad part is, if someone gets poor grades they're just going to be because 1st semester is hard on everyone , I seriously doubt it will be a true reflection of anyone's actual law abilities. Alright I'm done for the night. I should think about reading some Contracts... except that I'm not going to, since I know I won't be called on. See what happens when you become to predictable in who you call on?
The slackers slack. ;-)
