  so While on my coffee break, i thought of 2 more good reasons why its a bad law (see previous post below): 1) it statuorily removes itself from judicial review, any one with any standing to challenge the law-- prisoners-- cannot challenge the law-- they've lost their suit brining ability. Think about what would happen if congress could do this, they just add the following phrase to the end of the bill "anyone with standing to challenge this law no longer has standing to challenge this law," and boom, no more supreme court.
3)this is a bit of a social argument, but the people it disenfranchizes are the people the government has a vested interest in reenfranchizing--- reforming prisoners so that they can be effective members of society, i think, requires that at some point giving them all the abilities-- or, shall i say, privleges and immunities-- of members of that society. I also noticed, as per the original link Lauren provided, the case has already withstood supreme court. D'OH.
