Happy September to everyone out there! Only four more months until 2004. Yes, this year has definitely flown by very quickly, and it definitely won't be any slower from here on out: Tioga, Halloween, Trey's Second Birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are all ahead.
Here's to smooth sailing through the rest of this year. This weekend was real nice. Ted and I spent Saturday in town. We had hoped to visit the Audubon Nature and Science Center in NO East, but the weather had another idea, so we went to Target and Olive Garden instead. Not only do they have the never-ending salad and breadsticks, but they've got the never-ending pasta bowls as well now.
Everyone left fat and happy from that dinner table! Sunday we traveled to Baton Rouge for the scrapbooking shindig at Michelle's. It was much fun and I look forward to getting more scrapbooking done in the near future. We stayed over that night, because Paul's belated family birthday party was Monday. I awoke early and went to get my favorite donuts, Jay's, Monday morning. Jay's has powdered sugar donut holes, which are the greatest creation ever. He also makes whole-wheat, sugar free donuts boasting 13.5 grams of carbs and only 150 calories... Yes, they are disgusting so stay far, far away from that option. For those who want to know, Jay's is on the corner of O'Neal Lane and S. Harrell's Ferry Rd.
in Baton Rouge; these tasties are worth a drive from anywhere -- even New Orleans on occasion. After dining on hot dogs and cake for lunch, Ted and I returned home to clean house and watch Tulane on ESPN. Of course, LSU won this weekend, but that was to be expected so little to speak of there. Ted was on a mission to watch SELU's inaugural game Saturday night, but too many complaints of it looking like a high school game (courtesy of me) had him changing the channel. Yes, there is a reason why Baton Rouge natives call Southeastern "Hammond High;" many of those were realized Saturday night. SELU did pull out victory number one, so congrats to them. Major kudos must go out to Tulane for their very LSU-esque rally late in the fourth quarter of their game yesterday evening. Many lesson still need to be taught, so keep watching Tulane. (Yes, I am kidding. That was a very good game last night! ) This Saturday, LSU faces Arizona at Arizona, which should be pretty interesting. Did I read this correctly, TBS will be broadcasting the game, which kicks off at 9 p.m.
Thanks to the Mountain Time Zone for the extra drinking time this week!! New Orleans own Saints also begin their season this week up north against Seattle. Ted and I may host a get together for one of the games; that will be announced later. Until then...
