I am thinking that today is the day to actually tell others about my blog. Hmm... an interesting concept, aye? So alas, I have to decided to join the cult and actually faithfully journal my life away on the blog spot. Welcome! Anyways, I am actually sitting at work, trying to do anything other than post more information into that access database... pure monotonous work. The beauty about monotony is it gives you so much time to think about stuff you would never otherwise think about. One of few things occur when I am bored, I eat (which occurs most often and is bad), I think of story lines for that book I may never write, or I think about current events and their effects on my life.
Sometimes eBay calls my name as well. Today, blogger yodelled from somewhere in the nether regions of my brain. So, thinking logically (as I like to do from time to time) I've decided to circumvent the eating tendency while nurturing my need to write and bitch. YEAH!! So everyone, you have joined me in just one of my ways I am looking to lose thos 100 pounds I need to lose. Yes, you read that correctly, I am now embroiled in the battle of the bulge. I MUST, CAN and WILL lose 80 - 100 pounds to reach my ideal weight for my height. No time table there, just a goal. I have begun with little avail (damn the monotony). I've been exercising at the French Riviera when ever I can. I've found that going to "da club" at about 8:30p.m. allows me to spend some time with my husband and child before indulging in what I swear my husband thinks is a completely selfish act. Excluding my class nights (tues and weds), I am looking at making the workout every day I can. It's time for some serious kick into calorie burning mode. Eating healthy really isn't a problem for me, as long as I can keep circumventing that boredom snack tendency and cooking my own food, but I've been thinking of going radical... attempting the Atkins lifestyle plan.
The concept makes sense to me, and I am definitely a sugar-a-holic, so I think this will be a smart step for me. So why the sudden urge? Well, it is something I have been working up to for awhile, but found little time to devote to. I've finally made the conscious decision that, like class and family, I HAVE to make time for this side of my life as well. Ted and I signed up for health insurance last week and my weight will factor into a higher premium for my health.
Not to mention, my addiction to sugar has me on the fast track to type 2 diabetes... not good. All of these things are factors, but the main factor came Friday. I viewed the pictures from Paul and Michelle's wedding last Friday and was ashamed. I looked awful! Pictures are such truth revealers and boy did these. I can't even bare the thought of getting family portraits done with my child because of my weight.
At my graduation, I begged my mom to only take pictures of me from the shoulders up! So, I am ashamed. I feel that people look at you different when you are my size, like you don't know how to take care of yourself. I feel that I am more often looked over in interviews because I don't look quite put together as my skinnier counterparts. Its an awful feeling that I just cannot live with anymore. So 100 pounds lighter here I come!
