CORRECTION: Michelle and Paul live in Northeast BR not Southwest. Being from Southeast BR and a graduate of "Weed"lawn HS (in Southeast BR as well), I obviously have not learned my directions. Either that, or I've been living in the NO area too long to remember my directions... someone explain to me exactly how the Westbank is west again, please! Perhaps all those years of marching band are to blame because I can't recall left or right half the time either... I have many band friends who suffer the same indignity... something to do with right flanks and left slides being yelled at you that just makes you forget...
Anyway, finals are next week. I officially have 4 more days before I am officially a college graduate for pertuity! This weekend, I will of course be doing my best (and last) session of undergraduate procrastination (I have a LARGE paper to write and a few chapters to read). If I study at all, I will be doing far better than what I did for the mid-term... BTW I scored a 95% on that exam so obviously this class is pretty easy.
Ted and I officially began the great adventure of potty training Trey last night with the purchase of a training toilet and training pants. Yes, we got roped into buying the one that makes the "real" flushing sounds. Now Trey has already figured out what it's for... to "PEE-PEE". He sat on it last night without fright, which according to the fine experts at Babycenter.com puts us ahead of the game.
Now we just need to figure out how to get him to 1) realize he has to go AND 2) get him to actually go. My son is pretty bright and loves to be like the BIG people, so hopefully this won't be too much of a hassle. Meanwhile, I have a feeling that this adventure, much like most of what Trey does, will become some interesting fodder for this blog.
On to cleaner things, does anyone know what happened to 106.7 THE END this morning? I got into my car, prepared to listen to Rod Ryan, and got some cheese from Jackson, MS of all places. Now first, let me lament upon the demise of THE TIGER for a second. For those fellow BR people who read this from occasion, you probably remember this. In the summer of '96 (I'd just graduated from HS), our one and ONLY "modern" rock channel went off the air.
The powers that be had decided that three country channels just weren't enough for the rednecks of the BR area. NO, let's just add another to the line-up. Thus, 100.7 CAT COUNTRY was born. Now this really upset many of the younger generations of BR, me especially. Those who knew, turned the dial to KLSU (which mainstreamed... another rant for another day). Others were forced to listen to Top 40 or buy CD players for their vehicles. Alas, an era died that day... we all sang "bye bye, Miss American Pie"... okay not really, but the last song THE TIGER played was "It's the End of the World" by REM. But it really did suck! Since then, they've gotten a new modern rock station, 104.9, and lost some country (THANK GOD!).
Now New Orleans has already lost the brief 94.9, which had cutting edge talk radio (Lex and Terry and Opie and Anthony were AWESOME) and cutting edge music. Tune in now and you get the wonderful strains of gospel. Now if 106.7 has flown south, I am once again the perverbally screwed listener. Grrr! Let us all hope that its just some funky interference or something. If you visit the website, the web cam is still up and working... HMMM.... Station is still out though... WEIRD
