Well, today is my last day at work for the week. In about three hours, I'll begin my Christmas vacation without a second glance.
Boy do I need this four-day holiday! Not that it will be any less busy. Tomorrow begins the rush: Ted, Trey and I travel to the ever lovely Prairieville to celebrate Christmas with my father, stepmother and stepfamily. Those who know me well just know how excited I am for this... woohoo, I can hardly contain myself. Anyway, we will try to swallow down a meal before doing to whole gift exchange thing. Afterwards, we jet on back to Metry to catch some shut eye so Santa can come for a visit. Next morning, of course we wake early to find out what Santa brought us, then we get dressed to attend the wonderfully eye-opening 8 A.M. mass with Ted's family at St. Simon Peter... another woohoo, I can hardly wait. Afterwards is breakfast (hopefully) and more gift exchanging before lunchtime. We dine with Ted's parents, Rick, and Grandma LeBlanc (the other couple of the family are going to visit their other family for lunch) for lunch before leaving for Baton Rouge and my mother's house, where we will eat dinner and sleep for the night.
Yes, the bulk of my time will be spent on the road this holiday season. Friday, I plan on getting my After-Christmas sale shopping on at the Mall of Louisiana. If anyone is in the area and wants to join the fun, let me know. Ted has to work unfortunately, so he gets to miss out, which I believe he is highly greatful for. Trey and I will travel back to O' Metry after our expedition Friday. Hopefully by Saturday, I'll get a chance to sleep some!
On a side note, I've grown accustomed to watching Fox and Friends in the morning. They're pretty entertaining and yes, the news does seem to be more balanced than other channels. However, these people are anything but perfect. Every once in awhile, you'll see a screw up in the news ticker, or someone will say something so absolutely ridiculous. Today, it was the latter. Upon speaking of the doctor that saved Jessica Lynch (he was granted asylum by the US government and now lives in the US), one of the hosts makes the comment: "This will be a very happy Christmas for he and his family.
" DOH! Being a former citizen of Iraq, I can only guess that this man is probably Islamic... Islams celebrated Ramadan last month, which is equivalent to our Christmas celebration (kind of). Oopsie! Check out a couple of new blog links I've added. My sister-in-law Michelle has a new blog. I'm re-addng Eric Stoltz's blog now that he has it working (and actually updates it)! Also, I've got a new home number, which I am definitely not posting here. If you think you'll need it, e-mail me. Have a happy holiday season everyone!
