I was listening to the Indigo Girls earlier, two songs particularly: Closer to Fine and Galilleo. I found my quote of the week from the first: "I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind/Got my paper and I was free. " A reflection of my educational journey, nes pas? Received the grade report online yesterday, I aced my final class with an A without really even trying, so I am proud. So, the song Galilleo speaks of past lives and learning. Really questioning how long it takes us to "get things right" in life.
Somehow this led to me taking a urlLink past lives quiz online. Here are my results: Diagnosis: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do not know how you feel about it, but you were female in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere around territory of modern West Australia approximately on 1150. Your profession was teacher, mathematician, geologist. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your brief psychological profile in that past life: Inquisitive, inventive, liked to get to the very bottom of things and to rummage in books. Talent for drama, natural born actor.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lesson, that your last past life brought to present: There is the invisible connection between material and spiritual world. Your lesson -- to search, to find and to use this bridge. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now you remember? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I pressed submit several times to see if I got the same results, just so I could see if they were "containerized. " I of course looked up my family... my dad was a girl... hee hee. I also found an A+ song lyric site urlLink http://www.lyricsfreak.com/ which list pretty much every artist and tons of songs.
Not all the lyrics are 100% accurate, but far more accurate than other sites I have used. Being the curious sort, I looked up Enigma because most of their songs are in Latin or French just because they can. I was pleased to find not only the lyrics in their original dialect, but also some translations (saves me a trip to the online French/English or Latin/English dictionaries!). I learned that Sadness Part I, which came out when I was 12 or 13, is about Marquis de Sade and that most of that album is very questioning of religious beliefs in conflict with human desires... particularly the song Mea Culpa. Very intriguing and I am a complete dork for looking at it. Alas, this is how the free time graduation has alotted me has thus been spent.
I am contemplating a read of Dante's Divine Comedy, or at least The Inferno, which seems a reputable and well educated thing to do. First, I must finish my backlog of smut, the first four of the Harry Potter series, and the NINE (Yes, I said nine) Janet Evanovich novels I just ordered a few weeks ago. The smut may be put to pasture for awhile, I've grown bored with it lately. Other than that, not much going. In a month, I will be finished with my current job assignment. We shall see where the career road will takes me from here.
